Archivierung der Ergebnisse in PANGAEA  PANGAEA-Logo  - Publishing Network for Geoscientific and Environmental Data


Forschungsförderung durch die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft erfolgt mit Mitteln der öffentlichen Hand. Die aus DFG-geförderten Projekten resultierenden Ergebnisse sollen daher nach Abschluss der Untersuchungen im Open Access der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden (DFG-Leitfaden zur Antragstellung 1.02). Daten können für einen Moratoriumszeitraum von max. 3 Jahren mit einen Passwort geschützt werden; nach Abschluss des Projektes ist die Beschränkung aufzuheben. Für die Projektphase 2008-2012 des SPP "Antarktisforschung" wurde die Archivierung und Publikation der Ergebnisse verbindlich festgelegt.

Das Alfred-Wegener-Institut betreibt das Informationssystem PANGAEA als Publikationssystem und Datenbibliothek für georeferenzierte Meß- und Beobachtungsdaten der Erdsystemforschung. Die Daten sind über die PANGAEA-Katalogsuche findbar, werden aber auch mit Webdiensten über Bibliothekskataloge, Portale und Suchmaschinen verteilt. Alle Datensätze sind im bibliographischen Sinne zitierfähig und über eine DOI (Digital Object Identifier) dauerhaft identifiziert (verlinkt).

Daten können als Excel-Tabellen mit ihren Metadaten an PANGAEA übermittelt werden, feste Formatvorgaben gibt es nicht. Metadaten umfassen Angaben zu Proben/Stations/Kernnummer, Position [Lat/Lon], Datum/Uhrzeit, Messkampange, Untersuchungsmethodik, Autoren und die Parameter mit ihren Einheiten.

Die Daten des Schwerpunktprogramms Antarktisforschung werden über den Datenkurator Oliver Stock des SPP (Email) an PANGAEA zur Archivierung weitergeleitet oder man leitet diese über die Submitmaske selbstständig an Pangaea weiter (dann aber bitte mit Hinweis an Oliver Stock). Nach Publikation erhält der Autor einen Link mit DOI zur Kontrolle. Zu allen Publikationen sollten die Datensupplements über PANGAEA verfügbar gemacht werden.
